The PC games market is booming, and players' demands on equipment and software are growing accordingly. At this year's IFA exhibition, a team of seven active women players will be demonstrating their skills for the first time. Sennheiser Communications is giving the players of the CatzClan strong support with its top model from the PC headset series, which is being presented to the trade audience for the first time.
Experience gaming live: you can do that in the Sennheiser Bus outside the Young Media Hall 9 at IFA 2003. Seven young women aged 18 to 25 are ready to let you look over their shoulders. They belong to the semi-professional CatzClan, and are one of the few women's teams on the scene to date. But the gaming girls already have one advantage over their competitors. They are supported by Sennheiser Communications: with the top model from the current headset collection, the Catz players have ideal conditions for discussing tactical moves. Because in these games the players communicate in real time. Even minor distortions can lead to misunderstandings. So the PC 150 headset from Sennheiser Communications not only ensures crystal-clear sound reproduction, but also has a noise-cancelling microphone that effectively filters out annoying background noise.
Kathrin Gerling, spokeswoman for the CatzClan, is delighted at Sennheiser's sponsorship: "Until now there hasn?t been much choice when it comes to special gaming headsets. The Sennheiser PC 150 is a real asset here. And very good equipment is crucial, especially for the increasingly sophisticated strategy games." But there is another reason why the CatzClan girls are happy: "The Sennheiser Gaming Event at the IFA gives us a chance to show that playing games in the Internet or at LAN parties is not just something for boys. The software available is varied, and these days the out-and-out shoot-to-kill games are only part of the market. Gaming at a high level is interesting for women as well. And that?s the message we want to put over through our appearance at the IFA," Gerling adds.
